What’s new?

🏆 Back in 2018, when Smartify won three Webby Awards, we’d developed the world’s first art scanning app. Fast forward four years and everything about the app has changed.

🎉 In 2022, we have completely redesigned and rebuilt the platform around a simple question: how can we take millions of artworks, artists and venues, and deliver a world of art that’s uniquely personal for everyone?

🖼 Put simply, we wanted to move from being the “Shazam of art” (an app focussed on lightning-fast object recognition) to the “Spotify of art” (a personalised, all-in-one guide to art). Smartify isn’t just another museum audio guide. We offer a powerful platform that’s changing the game when it comes to how people experience arts and culture.

👩‍🎤 For arts and culture lovers, there's now a personalised way to explore the world's best collections. The favourites they save, artworks they look at and venues they visit combine to create an experience that's truly unique. They’re able to arrive at a museum and get a personalised itinerary of objects we know they'll love, along with turn-by-turn wayfinding to guide their way.

🧏 Above all, we believe that art should be accessible to everyone, everywhere. We provide AAA-rated accessibility and market-leading standards of inclusivity for the cultural sector.

🏠 For the opening of the Science Museum's newest gallery (Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery), for example, we worked with young people with a range of sight abilities to deliver a ground-breaking audio description trail. The tour provides an alternative way to explore the space, featuring sound effects, characters and spoken word poetry to help bring the gallery to life. We've also worked with Royal Museums Greenwich to provide British Sign Language tours and LGBTQ+ tours, helping to make their iconic London landmarks accessible.
